Being successful means not being afraid to challenge the norm. Being willing to take a chance. Asking why and making your own track, not just following the well trodden path. Charting your own course and destiny. Being the person that you were meant to be.
I believe that everyone is born unique. But through the years we work very hard to be like everyone else. We conform to society’s so-called “common-sense.” Unfortunately it is just that – “common sense.” That does not mean its “good sense.”
Society celebrates mediocrity so much that it does not take much to set yourself above the rest. Doing that one thing regularly will put you way above the rest. Read books that challenge you and that make you think, rather than wasting time and watching TV.
Know you’re unique. For starters, know that you’re already different than everyone on the planet. Sure, some people are more different than others, but all of us have a unique set of experiences and characteristics that spell out a different reality than everyone else on Earth. No one else has the same brain you do, the same thoughts you have, or the same reactions as you do. You’re different by just being you.
Labels are pretty useless. Even striving to be different isn’t something that’s truly achievable. A quick change of cultures will show you that people operate differently by default. Instead, accept that you’re already unique and work with yourself. Who are you anyway?
Success, as with most things, starts with attitude. When you’re struggling, a small burst of inspiration can make a huge difference. Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it, and things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out. Entrepreneurs average 3.8 failures before final success. What sets the successful ones apart is being different than the crowd and their amazing persistence.
No matter how old you are, where you’re from or what you do for a living, we all share something in common—a desire to be successful. Each person’s definition of success is different, however, as some may define success as being a loving and faithful spouse or a caring and responsible parent, while most people would equate success with wealth, fame, and power.
We all want to achieve success so we could live a comfortable life—have financial freedom, drive a nice car, and live in a beautiful house. However, although success can be achieved, it does not come easy. There are a lot of tips and strategies out there on how to be successful in life, but I am still a firm believer that there is no better way to succeed than to follow that footsteps of those who have already done so.
“Life Is Like The Ocean. It can be calm or still, and rough or rigid, but in the end.. It’s always beautiful.”
